1. Its a cropping greenfield startup project. It requires clearing of overgrown old fields using bulldozers. Meaning soils are free of any chemicals or fertilizers. A requisite for some export crops.
2. Required is a JV Partner - with: the requisite finance (or access to capital) to develop the project and purchase the necessary capital equipment.
3. Partner must have the necessary technical expertise and experience for project success.
4. Partner must have access to export markets.
5. Partner must be prepared to undertake long-term high value export oriented cropping on a 50:50 profit sharing basis for the duration of the project.
6. Focus must be on sustainable agriculture using sustainable borehole drip irrigation systems preferably with crops under greenhouses.
7. Aim is to site and drill boreholes supplying reservoirs to irrigate crop fields.
8. There is no dam - though it can be constructed. Alternatively water can be piped from a large dam about 7-10km away - requires a pipeline.
9. Off-grid solar energy solutions and solar irrigation solutions using sustainable agriculture methods will work best, given the hydro electricity power challenges.
10. Currently there is NO electricity. Poles and cables were vandalized. However can be reinstalled either privately or on application to ZESA.
